Below that is the Special Walker form. This is for parents who don’t wish to wait in line and show ID or student number for pick-up. Student will be released at dismissal time, and will need to have someone waiting as these students will not be supervised once they exit the school. You can also use this form later in the year at any time to change your child from regular tag walker to special walker.
Helpful hints for drop-off line in answer to many parent questions:
- You will want to approach the school from the back. Please don’t drive across front of school to turn onto Sun Valley as this interferes with buses. Vehicles are NOT ALLOWED to enter Sun Valley Drive from Arnold Mills Rd during drop-off and pick-up times.
- Make sure child can unbuckle and open door on the passenger side of car. If child can’t unbuckle, you can either help them while STOPPED in line approaching the drop-off area, or if more time is needed you can park on side streets and walk them over. Please do not wait until you are at drop-off spot to unbuckle.
- Make sure child can put backpack on themselves, so they are ready to get out of car. It’s helpful to have a pocket or clip to attach loose items like water bottles or lunch backs to the backpack so they don’t have to fumble around for multiple items. Try carabiner clips!
- When exiting, make sure to turn right out of lot and go around those side streets rather than driving past the bus drop off area.
- Watch out for walkers! Especially when exiting after drop-off. Please check carefully for walkers coming down the road. If walking, make sure your group is tucked over to the side of the road and not spilling into the road especially near the exit turn.
