Vision screenings will begin in October. If a child does not pass the initial screening they are rescreened on a different day. If they do not pass the second screening you will receive a referral letter for the child to be seen by an eye doctor.
Please return the yellow dental card OR a note signed by the parent/guardian that the child is seen for regular dental examinations. The dentist will be scheduled mid year and will see children who have not returned the dental card or note.
If your child’s health record has any missing information, letters will sent out by the end of the week. All immunizations must be up to date according to the Department of Health regulations. I need physicals for kindergarten students only.
As cold and flu season approaches, please keep your children at home if they have a temperature above 100.4 degrees and/or if they are vomiting and/or has diarrhea. Children should be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school.
Head lice: Just a reminder to talk to your children about not sharing hats, hair accessories, combs, or brushes. It may be helpful to keep long hair tied back. If you suspect your child has head lice, please contact me. You may also refer to the Cumberland School Department policy on head lice (located on the district web page under school committee tab).
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.
