2nd Grade Report Cards

Dear Parents/Guardians of Second Graders,
We are very excited to share the updated grade 2 Standards Based Report Card (SBRC). A few revisions were made to more accurately reflect the standards we teach.
In Science, one grade per trimester will be assigned. This grade will reflect how your student is using science and engineering practices to demonstrate understanding of core ideas in three science disciplines; earth/space science, physical science and life science. This is more aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
English Language Arts (ELA) now incorporates reading, foundational skills, writing and language. They will no longer be listed as subcategories on the report card. In writing, the standard specifically states, “…with guidance and support, composes grade-appropriate writing.” The report card has been changed to reflect this language.
Lastly, Speaking and Listening will now reflect all content areas, not just ELA.
As always, thank you for your continued support.
